Logan Martin, May 2005

The water on Logan has cleared up all the way past Stemley Bridge now making things tough in most areas. The topwater bite is short lived in the morning, but big fish are being caught on Spooks and Sammy's in shad colors on rock. After the topwater subsides a super fluke or jerkbait is still catching some fish around brush. The jig bite has started to turn on this week around docks and is yeilding some big spots and largemouth alike. Pitch a Franklin Jig in 3/8oz in a brown/green combination trailed by a Watermelon Super Chunk. Finesse fishing is a good idea right now up into the day since the water is clear, so have a Slider head or Shaker head tied on. We are still selling every Key Lime Pie finesse worm we can get which tells us that they are still being eaten. Carolina rigs should be back on this week after the full moon and our last spawners get off the bed.
