Logan is out of school and today was a scouting trip on Lay to hit as many areas as I could to see what type stuff was holding fish for a tournament on Saturday. Of course as all fisherman know, fish on Friday , hit a bunch of stuff, everything has fish on it and then you fish Saturday wondering where they disappeared to ! We began in the grass with frogs and graduated to points and later river ledges with fish biting pretty much everything on every stop from 1' to 20' from the floating stuff to the finesse stuff . We did not stay on any one area more than 10 or 15 cast except for one hump where Logan demonstrated his dropshot ability and caught 10 or 12 keeper sized spots to my 3 jighead fish . I hope I can return to several of the places on Saturday and catch a decent limit but the lake sure changes on the weekend with all the boats and added pressure . The best success today besides the dropshot rig was a 3/16 spotsticker with grren glitter destroyer and hammer time green magic finesse worms dragged along the points and later on the river ledges . The better fish seemed to be in about 12' of water with 20' close by and seemed to holding next to stumps . good luck to all this holiday weekend, God Bless our past and present troops and all their famalies, Thanks for all that ya'll have done and are doing for the human race at home and where ever you lay your head !
