LAY LAKE ABA JUNE 2005

fished the ABA tournament ot of Paradise Point today with 30+ boats that showed . I of course naturally got there last and blasted off last ! Today must have been my day ! I barely make it before tournament director Clint nail blast off and I have 3 nice fish come off and still somehow won the tournament . I started off pretty quick boating a decent fish minutes after starting and backed it up with another and then lose a good one on a frog . I finished up with a couple of good fish and 3 keepers on my first stop . There were fish in the grass and on the edge of a drop in brush , I was fishing the spotsticker with Hamer Time Green magic in the brush and casting a frog to boils in the grass . I left and ran down catching numbers of 1.1 pound to 1.5 pound spots and largemouth off points and humps on the jighead and dropshot . I spent several hours trying to cull two 1.6 lb fish and finally got on my favorite river ledge and hit a nice spot which you guessed it, I lose ! As I said it must have been my day , the next cast on a jighead is a 5.33 largemouth in 18 foot of water holding near a stump . I spent the next little while probing the ledge with crankbaits and jigheads in which I had 4 or 5 more keepers but nothing that would cull. I went back to my starting spot, getting 4 more keepers in the brush in 12 foot of water . I decided to put everthing up but my rod for skipping and went at it with a 1/8 magnum and SS Magic hand pour catching 3 or 4 fish with another good 4 pounder being the last one I caught ! I would end up with 5 weighing 16.36 and a 5.33 kicker . Some real nice fish caught today with 4 more bags in the mid 15s and a 8.33, 6.34 weighed in separate bags. My ability as a fisherman is probably only average at best so I must thank the Lord for today and his many blessing's he has sent my way ! I always enjoy competitive fishing and it is nice to win one every now and then and enjoy the company of some really good fisherman ! The photo is 4 of my better fish as Clint Nail lended my a couple hands to help get the shot . We have been very pleased with the Spotsticker hand poured worms ! they seem to be producing on alot of lakes across the country with the SS Magic being one of the top colors . We also need to thank Sunline for making a great product .
Everyone have a safe and enjoyable holdiday and say a special prayer for our troops that allow us to enjoy a day on the lake !

Good Fishing and God Bless !
