DREAM LAKE JUNE 2005

Glen , Roy and Myself after fishing Thursday evening for a little while and getting a tast of what could be expected on Friday was to say the least excited about the next morning. We enjoyed a fine meal prepared by the good folks at Dreamlake and than spen a little while getting retied , respooled with line and put on the baits we would start with. Friday morning we got started a little slow on my first cast with a buzzbait I had a nice fish blow up and missed it and it took about 7 minutes before we would start connecting on some good largemouth . The surface lures did not produce however and had to pick up the Net Bait Paca Craw in white . We caught more than 30 bass from 2 to 6 pounds on a fifty yard stretch of bank . When this bite slowed we switched to the big worm again with only a couple of bites and Glen decided to try the spotsticker hand poured worm in red bug with 4/0 hooks and 3/16 ounce slip sinkers on flippn sticks and it began to produce with very good results. We used over 200 red bug worms with 3 trips to the truck to get more from my tool box. We gave the folks on the other lake a few packs because they said at lunch the bite had been slow . Paul would return a few hours later and ask if I had some more that they were out . We sent several more packs over and they would continue catching fish. The fish were holding in the same depths 5 to about 12 foot around heavy wood . We fished Sunline Shooter in 22 and 25 lb test with H&H Flippn sticks. We caught fish on spotsticker spinnerbaits, mini me spinnerbaits and Black buzzbaits with Glen getting one a little over 10 pounds and and another at 9 on a black spinnerbait. Our best 5 would weigh over 40 pounds on Friday. Dreamlake is a great place for a trip or a meeting and some fishing as they have a nice set up for corporate meeting groups and do a little fishing after the meeting. Friday was a day to remeber with near 200 bass caught with 50 over 5 pounds . Ya'll give Paul and Connie a call for a trip to remember on a lake where you can fish your strengths or improve on a bait that is your weakness. Good Fishing and God Bless !
