LAY LAKE JUNE 2005Date Fished: 6/11/05Water Temperature: 78 Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Neal and I put in at Beeswax Saturday morning to give it a try and see if we could find another big fish in the grass. It drizzled pretty much all morning. We put in at 5:00 and fished until around 10:30. We weren't able to put any big fish in the boat, but we did get some good strikes. I tried the frog most of the morning, but did not get any takers. Neal was able to catch a couple of decent 1.5 lb fish on the fluke in deeper water, but let the big one get away. Later in the morning, we went back to the grass and got a good look at a two very nice fish that wanted the frogs, but did not stay hooked up. Later, Neal found a nice fish in some deep timber and finally, I caught my first and our last fish of the day on a spook where the bass were busting up schools of shad back in the pockets. Slower day than usual for us the past few weeks, but we still had a great time try INDEX: |
