LAY LAKE JUNE 2005Submitted by Mike Morton, Spotsticker ProStaffDate Fished: 6/19/05 Slipped out and fished for about 2 1/2 hours today with my neighbor, we fished mid lake between Spring Creek and Cedar Creek, starting in the weeds swimming a white jig. Picking up a couple of keeper size LM out of the weeds but neither would have been over 1 1/2 lbs, switched to 3/16 spotstickers with green glitter, melon murder and red bug hand pour finesse worms hitting points, boat houses and piers as we worked our way back to the house. It is really hard to say one was better than the other today as we caught fish at most of the places we tried and on all three colors. The point fish were in the 10 - 15 foot range while the pier and boat house fish were in 8 -12 range. The fish are still hitting light so watch your line and be ready if it does not feel right. Not a lot of size today but the numbers weren't bad, catching over a dozen. Our better fish were spots in the 1 1/2 to 2 lb range with our best 5 in the 8 - 9 lb range.
