DEMOPOLIS MARCH 2008Demopolis: Temp: Low 50s. Clarity: Clear.Bass: March should be excellent, according to Anthony Skinner at A&D Sporting Goods in Gilbertown. “A recent tournament was won primarily by fishing crankbaits on the river,” he said. “But by the first week of March the bass ought to be moving up, and we will be catching them in the backwater on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and floating worms. Anthony said he throws a 3/8-oz. War Eagle blade with a Colorado and willowleaf blade and a blue/white skirt. For floating worms, Anthony picks merthiolate as the color the bass prefer, and he likes to burn a red Rat-L-Trap back to the boat in March to catch bass. “I bring it back just as fast as it will come,” he said.
