Bass fishing is good and lake levels continue to rise. More rain is in the forecast for this weekend and it might even get rough at times. Several anglers have reported seeing Bass up shallow and thought they were on the beds. This is not true; the bass aren't on bed yet and the smaller Bass they saw were the first wave of males or buck bass making beds in hopes of attracting a female bass. These fish can be caught very easily with a Fluke or trick worm. The bigger fish seem to be back in the five to ten foot depths of water and out on the secondary and main lake points. DT6's, X-Raps and root beer colored Speed Traps will all catch these Bass. A Carolina rigged lizard is also a must to carry along during the next week. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather, as thunderstorms are a possibility on Saturday.
