LAY LAKE, MAY 2005

Fishing on Lay is taking a turn for the better here this week. Water temps are warming up and the jig bite is really turning on. The flippers report catches on the Paca Craw in Alabama Craw and Summer Craw as well as the Davis M Jigs. We are selling every 5/8oz. Black/Blue we can get our hands on. Flip the jig in timber with a Paca Chunk Sr. behind it and hang on. The spinnerbait is also catching fish around the grass and on main river points. The new Phase II spinnerbait in Peacock and Baby Bass are the big sellers right now. There are a lot of sweet beavers in the grass right now and they are still getting eaten up by the largemouth. Dirty Sanchez and Sprayed Grass are both hot colors right now. The topwater bite has also been hot in the last week. The Bonnie 95 and Dager'd are the big hitters right now. The bite last up until about 9 in the morning.
