The deer population at the beginning of each season is as high as 200 per square mile. PA-KO Regarded as a family hunting retreat PAKC) has been privately owned and managed for over 50 years. We have spent the last ten years working with biologists to enhance habitat and manage the growing population of trophy game. In short, we have created a sportsmans paradise.
PA-KO DEERHUNTS,
DEERARCHERY HUNTS Alabama's archery season begins in October Early season hunters will experience very mild temperatures. Deer will be feeding on acorns, persimmons, and food plots. Established travel routes will also be highly productive. In order to allow for maximum flexibility bow hunters are encouraged to bring a portable tree stand. For those hunters not owning or familiar with portable stands, we have approximately 100 permanent stands to chose from. Bows used should be with a let-off of no more than 75% and of no less than 35 pounds of pull. Carbon, graphite, or aluminum arrows should be used. PA-KO holds approximately 1000 acres exclusively for bow hunts. 
DEERFIREARM HUNTS Mid November signals the beginning of Alabama's gun season. This season lasts 80 days and with a 1 deer per day limit is arguably the most generous in the United States. Deer at this time of year are plentiful and free of late season hunting pressure. With temperatures still on the mild side this is an excellent time for the first time or inexperienced hunter. We encourage new and novice hunters and can provide one on one guides for maximum success and safety. Rifles should be of .223 caliber or larger. Many stands will offer lengthy shots and good flat-shooting rifles are ideal. Scopes of 40 mm and better are preferred because many of PA-KO's better bucks are taken at dusk and dawn.
SPRING TURKEY HUNTS Turkey season begins March thru April. We have plenty of prime Turkey hunting land. Lots of timber, ravines, and cover. We extensively plant all wildlife fields with Chufa, corn, millet and green cover crops. Seeing turkey is not a problem. PA-KO's founder, Paul Messham, was instrumental in bringing back the wild turkey to South Alabama with his method of raising and releasing thousands of wild turkeys all without ever letting them see a human. This same area produced a number of trophy sized Toms last year. This fall we have seen large Toms with estimated 9 inch beards. Guided three day hunts typically begin before sunrise, break for brunch at noon and resume around 4:00 p.m. Hunters are permitted to take up to two gobblers per three day hunt. Hunters who are successful in the morning may elect to fish our wel I stocked pond for bass and bream. Or, golf on one of 3 nearby courses.
FISHING Fishing is complimentary for guests hunting at PA-KO. For those wishing to fish exclusively at Pa-Ko, packages are available, call for prices. To say that PA-KO's food and lodging are first class, is an under statement. Guests enjoy true southern cooking a, id spacious guest rooms with a] I accommodations.  ROCKFENCE PLANTATION
CONTINENTAL PHEASANT SHOOTS
Beginning in the fall of 2001 Rockfence Plantation will be offering Continental Pheasant Shoots. The Continental Shoot simulates a European driven pheasant hunt and consists of pass shooting. There will be 200 flighted birds per shoot. Hunters will be stationed in 10 blinds in a large circle around a tower with two shooters per blind. As the birds are flighted, you will be in for some exciting shooting! After 12 birds are individually flighted, all action will stop and hunters will move up I blind to the right. This will continue throughout the shoot so everyone will enjoy the same shooting opportunity. suggest the use of a modified or full choke. No shot larger than #6's Eye and ear protection are required. At the end of the shoot, all the birds will be divided equally among the hunters present. Your birds will be cleaned, packaged and iced down in a Rockfence cooler for the trip home.
Schedule of Events
• 12:00pm meet at the Rockfence lodge for lunch.
• 1:00pm Rockfence will transport hunters to their assigned shooting station.
• 1:30pm Shoot begins.
• 4:30pm+/- Return to lodge for refreshments and hors d'oeuvres and to pick up birds.
The price for each shoot will be $250.00 per gun, which includes shoot and lunch. There is no charge for cleaning and packaging of birds harvested. Sykes Place Plantation tailors each hunt to exceed the guest's anticipation. One of the few facilities outfitted for horseback hunts, the wingshooter may also choose wagon or foot to roam some 4,000 acres in search of wild and liberated birds.

GILES ISLAND
Giles Island was a once working plantation adjoining the north bluff of Natchez Mississippi. Today, it is 9400 acres of Mississippi bottom land, hardwood forest, a place of legend, and the drama of human deeds. In 1933, the corps of engineers dredged what is known as Giles cutoff. the end result was the creation of a wilderness paradise called Giles Island. All booking include lodging, maid service and three home cooked meals a daily. Our five log-cabin style lodged are air conditioned, heated, and offer full baths with queen size and/or bunkbeds. Enjoy the serenity of our outdoor fireplace. All activities inclusing deer hunting are semi-guided,meaning that guests are transported to and from their deerstands by a guide.

We believe that if you are spending your hard-earned dollars on hunting or fishing trip you should be able to have the ability to spend your time the way you want to. Not like being sent to boot camp. Whether it be sleeping in or staying up all night, it's your vacation. That's why we only book four people maximum on all our adventures. The main reason for this is simple; it is much easier to keep four people happy and well attended to, rather than fourteen. This allows us to get to know our clients better so we can customize a trip to make their stay an unforgettable one. It also keeps us from putting too much pressure on our game. With over 1,250 prime acres of world class whitetail deer habitat (all adjoining) and a 28+-acre trophy bass lake we could entertain up to 10 -12 clients at a time. But we don't. We believe in quality, not quantity. That is the main reason that the bulk of our clients are repeating customers and our best way of attracting new customers is 'Word of Mouth'.
