Q: What’s the one accomplishment of your professional career
that you are most proud of?
A: “I would say qualifying for the FLW Championship twice
and finishing in the top ten in points twice!
2. Q: What is the most difficult thing about fishing on the professional
level that the average tournament angler doesn’t experience?
A: “Having to fish new water and adapt to unfamiliar water
quickly is the hardest thing.”
3. Q: What is your number one go to bait? What color, size
A: To no one’s surprise Matt answered “a jig. I don’t
have a favorite color or size. I use them all in different conditions.”
4. Q: What’s your opinion of the bracket style tournament
used in the FLW championship?
A: “It’s great for the fans to watch, but as far as
being a competitor I would rather fish total weight.”
5. Q: If you had one day on the water on your home lake against
one other angler who would you not want to fish against?
A: “I don’t have an answer to that one. I don’t
fish against the other guys. I fish against the fish and that’s
who I worry about. I don’t worry about my competition when
I’m on the water, the fish are my competition”
6. Q: What’s your favorite Store?
A: Marks Outdoors.”
7. Q: Who will win the $1.5 Million dollar FLW Championship?
A: “The pro that catches the most fish for four days.”
“You have 48 guys that can catch ‘em so it depends on
the conditions. They won’t be caught one way. Guys will have
to adapt and change. They will have to fish deep and shallow.
